Will there be "Peace and Security"?

1 Thessalonians 5:2-4 (New International Version)

2for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. 3While people are saying, "Peace and safety," destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.

Many other political leaders have been saying and increasingly continue to say peace and security. For instance Bill Clinton was in Israel last fall promoting this 2 state union between Israel and Arab communities. He repeated that line more than I have ever heard before. The UN is taking it upon themselves to make an agreement for a two state policy to divide Israel in half right through Jerusalem and the temple mount In this clip you see moon say those words "peace and Security" Even so, Lord, come! Make sure your looking forward to His return.

What needs to happen before the rapture?

Nothing!
The only thing that needs to happen is your salvation through Jesus Christ.
This is a blog to post questions, answer questions, argue statements. post news articles. It has just begun so please join in and don't be afraid to give your thoughts (however outlandish they may be) Challenge me and I will try to challenge you.
As iron sharpens iron,
so one man sharpens another prov. 27:17

So... to the original question. What needs to happen for the rapture to take place?
Luke 24:47 says And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. I have heard it preached many times that we must evangelize the whole world before the rapture takes place, after all that just wouldn't be fair to the people who didn't hear the Gospel. there will be more people come to Christ in the 7 years after the rapture then the 70 years prior to. 144,000 messianic Jews will evangelize like there is no tomorrow, and two prophets will show signs and wonders and all nations will see them lying in the streets for 3 1/2 days and then they will be resurrected (Rev. chapt. 11). The whole world will be evangelized in the last days so the thought that God would wait on us just doesn't sound very sound.
